Gym Membership FAQs
What are the timings of the off-peak membership?
The off-peak gym membership gives you entry to the gym during the following times: Mon-Fri 8:00 – 15:00. Sat-Sun anytime.
Can I come to the gym to sign up to a membership?
Yes! If you would prefer you can choose to come to the gym to sign up to a membership. You can come any time any day, no need to book before! There will be a receptionist at the front desk to help you with the sign up. You can also train the day you sign up!
Can I cancel my membership, and do I have to give notice?
Yes, you can cancel your membership at any time. To cancel all you must do is let us know that you would like to cancel and give us 30 days’ notice. Please note that paid in full memberships are non-refundable.
How do I move to another membership?
Just let one of our receptionists know what membership you are currently on and what membership
you would like to swap to by either email, phone or in person. Please note that if you are upgrading
your membership, you can do so at anytime, if you are downgrading, a 30 day notice applies.
What happens if I want to freeze my membership?
We offer up to a 1-3 month freeze option up to once a year to all our members. Please note, that members will have to give their 30 day cancelation notice outside of their freezing duration (cancelling membership during a frozen membership: Freezing Duration + 30 Days).
Is there a joining fee?
Yes, there is, any existing/current live member, signing up to a new membership does not have to
pay the joining fee. If you are a new member are a previously cancelled member, the signing fee is
£15.
Can I pay by cash or card/payment?
Daily memberships can be purchased with Visa Credit, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro. Monthly memberships are paid via Direct Debit. The signup section of the website is secure, and any details entered will be encrypted before being sent to the server. We assure you that your personal and banking details will be kept private. We also offer Paid in Full options which allows you to pay by cash or card.
When does the first payment come out of my account?
Your first payment will be collected on the same day as joining, including the joining fee; this will cover your first month’s membership at The Gym. Subsequent monthly payments will be debited one month after joining and will continue or just after the same day of each month thereafter.
Can I change my direct debit date?
Yes, there is a choice of 2 dates per month you are able to choose from, these are the 1st and 17th. Please contact reception if you would like to change direct debit dates.
I am under 18, can I have a gym membership?
Yes! However, if you’re under 18 you cannot set up your own direct debit, you will need a parent/guardian to put it under their name.
I am under 16, can I have a gym membership?
Yes! We allow 14+ to train at our gym. However, between the ages of 14-16 you must be accompanied by an adult or fitness professional.
What times are usually the busiest?
Our busiest times are between 5:00pm to 7:00pm Monday – Friday. Busy times can be seen by Google searching ‘ARC Gym Wokingham’ where it provides a day to day usage of our facility.
I require a carer/helper to attend the gym with me due to a medical condition – is this allowed?
We want all our members to feel safe in The Gym. As such, all members must continue to follow the advice of national health services and Government. This includes ‘shielding’ for any vulnerable people, such as those with breathing difficulties, or other medical conditions which can mean that they are at higher risk as a result of COVID-19.
Is there parking available?
Yes, we have customer only parking.
Are there changing facilities and showers in The Gym?
Yes, we provide showers, lockers and toilets.
Do the facilities include a sauna, steam, spa or pool?
We offer a high-quality exercise and fitness facility with no ‘frills and fuss’ and therefore have opted
not to have a sauna, steam, spa and pool.
I have forgotten/left something behind at The Gym, do you have a lost property area I can pick it up later?
If you have left anything at the Gym, please Contact Reception to get in touch or go to the Gym. We keep any lost property safe for you for a maximum of 14 days, after which we will give it to charity. Please come into The Gym to collect at your earliest opportunity.
Can I share or give my PIN number to somebody else to use?
Under no circumstances can you give or share your PIN number with anybody else. To protect the interests and ensure the safety of our members, offenders will have their membership cancelled. All members entering and exiting The Gym are monitored by CCTV 24/7 to further enhance member safety and prevent PIN number abuse.
Do you have free WIFI?
We do not provide WIFI.
How long does my Day Pass last?
Day Passes are usable for the same day only from the time of entering the gym to use the facility. If
you are not looking to train and purchasing a day pass for a later time, we have a 12 month expiry date on all day passes.
How can I give feedback to the club?
Please email admin@arc-gym.co.uk where we are able to send you a feedback jot form.
What do I do if my app is not working?
If your app is not working as it should, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via either email or phone call. A member of staff will work to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible for you. However, if your app is not working and you wish to book into train that day, please give us a call and we will happily book you onto the time slot and then fix your app when you arrive.
Which type of barbell do I use for each exercise?
If confused on which type of bar bell you should use for an exercise, there are new and detailed guides on the walls around the squat racks to help. If further help is needed, please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff for assistance.
I am new to the gym and am unsure of how to use equipment?
We offer a free hour induction for all new members where we can take you through anything you would like to be shown! Or if you are still unsure of how to use a piece of equipment, please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff, everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. In addition, if you feel like you lack confidence and need a boost during your sessions speak to reception about PT sessions.
Can I get a trial session?
If you have not been to ARC Gym before and wish to do a trial before signing up, we offer a day pass for £12.50. This is refundable if you then sign up to a membership on the same day.
Do I have to book to come and view the gym?
You don’t need to book to come and visit, come through at anytime where a receptionist will assist you! If you would like a tour, calling up prior will give the team more of a heads up.
Do you offer classes?
Classes coming February 2025.
Who do I ask if I am interested in PT sessions?
Our website has personal training profiles of each of our fitness professionals where you can look to see who suits you the best! Or if you are not sure, you can come and speak to reception and they can give you guidance on who could be the best fit.
How much are personal training sessions?
All our personal trainers and coaches are free lance, meaning they are external to ARC and run their own business. Please get in touch with the desired personal trainer to enquire about pricing and packages.
Who does the TreatmentBox help?
The professionals at the Box help with all forms of injury and pain at all stages! Whether that is post surgery care, chronic back pain, training, returning back to sport and more. They do not only work in a clinical and/or manual setting, they have a large emphasis on exercise therapy and getting people back into their desired sport/activity and making everyday life easier whilst being pain free!
Who much is a session at the TreatmentBox?

How do I book on for a session at the TreatmentBox?
This can be done by the TreatmentBox at the top of the website or you can book on via reception!
I want to buy a supplement but am unsure of which one is best?
We have a team of knowledgeable staff who you can ask, and they will give you the best guidance as to what would be right for you. We also have a blog on the ‘Blog’ section of our website to get an understanding on what you can be utilising!
What if I have allergies?
Please let the relevant member of staff know about your allergies. All product sold at the bar are packaged with all the relevant information on, regarding allergy related ingredients and processes.
Can I buy in bulk or multi packs?
Yes! We sell all our products in bulk/multi packs and if you order before 2pm, then we can get it to you by the following day! We also try to be as competitive as we can with our pricing both locally and online.
